The second edition of 3Music TV's Refresh, organized by 3Media Networks, took place at the School of Creative Arts, University of Education, Winneba, marking a memorable day of insightful discussions and engaging interactions aimed at fostering academic and personal growth among students.
The event commenced with a courtesy call by the organizing team to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba. This initial interaction set a collaborative tone for the day, as the team engaged in a fruitful deliberation with other heads of the institution, discussing the objectives and expected outcomes of the Refresh initiative.
At 10 am, the main event kicked off in a packed 500-seater auditorium. Ms. Lerny Lomotey, serving as the moderator, warmly welcomed the enthusiastic students, setting a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. The day's theme, Balancing Academics and Personal Growth: Navigating Success in College, provided a framework for the series of enriching talks that followed.
Esteemed speakers included Madam Rashidatu Yasmine Abdulai, CEO of 3Media Networks, celebrated Ghanaian actor Adjetey Annan, Mr. Alex Offei Sackey, Mr. John Foley, Mr. Cyril-Alex Gockel, and Mr. Bismark Odum Sackey. Each speaker shared their personal journeys, offering valuable insights and advice. For instance, Madam Abdulai emphasized the importance of resilience and adaptability in both academic and personal pursuits, while Adjetey Annan recounted his challenges and triumphs in the entertainment industry, inspiring students to pursue their passions with dedication.
The session was marked by interactive discussions, where students actively posed questions and received practical guidance. This engagement highlighted the event's dynamic nature, as students felt empowered to seek advice and share their perspectives. Topics ranged from effective time management and career planning to mental health and the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
AT Ghana, the main sponsor of the event, contributed to the interactive atmosphere by awarding airtime vouchers to students who participated in the discussions. This gesture not only incentivized active participation but also added to the vibrant energy of the event, leaving a lasting impact on the attendees.
Reflecting on the success of the day, organizers expressed their satisfaction with the event's outcomes. They noted its potential to positively influence the lives and aspirations of the students, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and personal development. The Refresh event was seen as a platform for students to gain insights, build networks, and feel inspired to achieve their goals.
Plans for the next Refresh location are already underway, promising another opportunity for impactful dialogue and community engagement. The success of this edition has set a high standard for future events, with the organizers committed to continuing their mission of inspiring and empowering young minds across Ghana.
