Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has scored yet another major milestone on the global stage, as his sophomore album, Iron Boy, debuts at No. 10 on the Billboard World Albums chart. The 15-track project, released on April 3rd, 2025, marks his second appearance on the prestigious chart.

Blending elements of hip-hop, Afrobeat, and Highlife, Iron Boy delves into themes of resilience and emotional vulnerability. The album features notable collaborations with Nigerian heavyweights Fireboy DML and Seyi Vibez, helping to further expand its international appeal.

This latest achievement builds on the momentum from Black Sherif’s debut album, The Villain I Never Was, which peaked at No. 12 on the same chart in 2022. With Iron Boy, Black Sherif continues to cement his status as a leading voice of a new generation of African music talent reaching global audiences.

Despite the impressive debut, Shatta Wale remains the Ghanaian artiste with the highest-ever debut on the Billboard World Albums chart. His 2018 album, Reign, entered at No. 6, a record that still stands today. The album’s impact was amplified by a massive launch concert at Accra’s Fantasy Dome, drawing over 18,000 fans and spotlighting hits like Gringo and Wonders.

Black Sherif’s ongoing success reflects the evolution and growing global appeal of Ghanaian music, as more artists from the region continue to break barriers and gain recognition on international platforms.
