Curfew Renewed in Chereponi, North East Region, Amid Ongoing Security Concerns

The Minister of the Interior, Henry Quartey, has renewed the curfew imposed on Chereponi in the North East Region, effective immediately.

The curfew, which was initially put in place to address communal clashes and security threats, will continue to restrict movement in the area from 8pm to 6am daily.

According to a statement from the Interior Ministry, the decision to renew the curfew comes after a thorough assessment of the security situation in Chereponi, which remains volatile.

The government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, and this curfew is a necessary measure to prevent further violence and maintain peace in the area, Hon. Henry Quartey said.

The curfew renewal has been endorsed by the Regional Security Council, which has urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to the restrictions.

The situation in Chereponi remains tense, with security forces on high alert to prevent any escalation of violence. The government has assured that it will continue to work towards a lasting solution to the security challenges in the area.
