Davido Seeks Joint Custody of Daughter Imade in Legal Battle with Sophia Momodu

Renowned Nigerian singer Davido has taken legal action against Sophia Momodu, the mother of his first child, Imade, seeking joint custody of their daughter.

According to court documents filed on April 17, 2024, at the Lagos State High Court (LD/1587PMC/2024), Davido is requesting unrestricted access to Imade, citing his consistent financial support for her well-being, including school fees, transportation, and accommodation.

The singer claims to have offered Sophia an apartment in a gated community in Victoria Island, Lagos, which she declined, instead demanding an annual payment of N5,000,000 for rented accommodation. Davido also alleges that he purchased a Range Rover SUV for Sophia and Imade's use, but when it required repairs, Sophia failed to inform him. He then provided a Highlander SUV and N5.8 million for the Range Rover's repair.

Despite his efforts, Davido claims Sophia continues to make excessive demands to frustrate him. The singer is seeking legal intervention to establish a formal arrangement for his daughter's care and well-being.

This development marks a new chapter in the custody saga between Davido and Sophia Momodu. The outcome of this legal battle remains to be seen, as the court considers the best interests of Imade.
