Originally released on May 6, 2016, the song has experienced a viral revival, largely driven by its popularity on TikTok, where users have embraced its introspective lyrics and moody production for creative content. According to posts on, 9 hit a new peak of 570,000 daily streams on April 29, 2025, a staggering 11-fold increase from its 50,000 daily streams in September 2024.

This milestone, underscores the song’s enduring appeal and Drake’s unmatched dominance in the streaming era, with fans celebrating the poetic coincidence of a song titled 9 landing at the ninth spot.The resurgence of 9 reflects Drake’s ability to maintain cultural relevance nearly a decade after its release, as the track’s daily streams have climbed steadily since early 2025. Data shows that by January 30, 2025, the song was already pulling 397,000 daily streams, an eight-fold increase from the previous September, and by February 12, it reached 492,000 streams, marking its biggest day ever at the time.
