Former Danity Kane and Dirty Money Member Dawn Richard Sues Diddy for Abuse and Assault
Richard Dawn & Diddy
Dawn Richard, a former member of Diddy’s Bad Boy groups Danity Kane and Dirty Money, has filed a lawsuit against the hip-hop mogul, accusing him of belittling, terrorizing, and sexually assaulting her. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Richard alleges that Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, manipulated her with promises of advancing her music career if she complied with his toxic demands.

Richard, who first rose to fame as a cast member on MTV's 2004 reality show Making The Band, detailed a series of troubling incidents spanning several years. In the lawsuit, Richard describes a 2005 encounter where she allegedly saw Kim Porter, Diddy’s former partner, leaving a studio with visible bruises on her face, which she claims made her aware of the Bad Boy CEO's potential for violence.

The documents also reference a 2009 incident in which Richard claims she witnessed a highly intoxicated Diddy choke his then-girlfriend, Cassie, and drag her through his Los Angeles home. Richard further alleges that Diddy threw a pan of eggs at Cassie during the altercation.

Richard says her attempt to support Cassie, alongside her former Dirty Money bandmate, was met with a hostile response from Diddy. According to the lawsuit, Diddy allegedly shouted, “Y’all b—hes don’t get in my relationship,” and added threatening remarks, saying, “Don’t tell my b—h [Cassie] what she need to be doing… Just make money and shut the f—k up… I end artists… I shelve careers… You could be missing… You b—es want to die today.”

Richard claims that she, too, became a victim of Diddy’s abuse during her time with Bad Boy, detailing how the mogul's behavior created an environment of fear and manipulation. The lawsuit paints a disturbing picture of Richard's years working under Diddy, a relationship that has now culminated in these serious allegations.

Neither Diddy nor his representatives have publicly commented on the lawsuit as of yet. The lawsuit adds to growing scrutiny around Diddy’s conduct, following recent claims and controversies involving the music mogul. Richard’s decision to come forward highlights ongoing concerns about abuse within the entertainment industry, and her allegations are now set to be examined in a court of law.
