Gospel music icon Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, affectionately known as KODA, will be laid to rest on Friday, September 20, 2024. The solemn occasion will be a private funeral service, held at the KICC Dominion Centre on Spintex Road, near the Coca-Cola Roundabout in Accra. Attendees are requested to honor his memory by adhering to an all-white dress code, symbolizing the celebration of a life devoted to faith and music.
KODA's untimely passing on Sunday, April 24, at the age of 45, sent waves of sorrow through the gospel music community and beyond. As a multi-award-winning artiste, he left an indelible mark on the industry, not only as a performer but also as a prolific producer. His contributions to gospel music extended far beyond his own work; KODA was instrumental in shaping the sounds of some of Ghana's most beloved gospel artistes. He produced music for the likes of the late Danny Nettey, Ps. Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, Halal Afrika, and Eugene Zuta, among others, leaving behind a rich legacy of spiritual and musical influence.
KODA's own discography speaks to his talent and devotion. His celebrated tracks, including NSEMPII, NKWA ABODOO, YAPAI, and ADORSO, continue to resonate with audiences, serving as a lasting reminder of his passion for sharing the gospel through music.
As the Ghanaian music fraternity and fans prepare to bid farewell to KODA, his legacy lives on through the timeless music he created and the countless lives he touched. His influence on gospel music in Ghana is immeasurable, and his contributions will continue to inspire future generations of artistes
