Global music legend Janet Jackson will be celebrated with the prestigious ICON Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, set to air live from Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Memorial Day, May 26. The 58-year-old superstar, an 11-time AMA winner, is being recognized for her profound cultural and global influence across five decades in the music industry, joining an elite group of past recipients like Rihanna in 2013 and Lionel Richie in 2022. Jackson will also mark her triumphant return to television with her first televised performance since 2018, promising a high-energy showcase of her timeless hits, as announced by CBS and Dick Clark Productions.

Jackson’s illustrious career, which includes over 180 million records sold, five Grammy Awards, and a 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, has redefined pop and R&B with landmark albums like CONTROL, RHYTHM NATION 1814, and JANET. Her innovative choreography, boundary-pushing music videos, and genre-defying sound have inspired generations, with hits like TOGETHER AGAIN and ALL FOR YOU remaining cultural touchstones.

The AMAs performance, hosted by Jennifer Lopez at the state-of-the-art BleauLive Theater, will coincide with Jackson’s ongoing Las Vegas residency, JANET JACKSON: LAS VEGAS, running from May 21 to May 31 at Resorts World Theatre, further amplifying her enduring relevance.

The 2025 AMAs are poised to be a historic night, with Jackson’s ICON Award acceptance and performance serving as a centerpiece. Fans are buzzing with anticipation, expecting a set that blends her signature dance moves and vocal prowess, potentially featuring tracks like SOMEONE TO CALL MY LOVER,  which recently resurfaced on the Billboard charts due to a TikTok resurgence.

Social media posts reflect excitement, with fans hailing her as a trailblazer whose influence remains unmatched. As Jackson prepares to take the stage, her appearance will not only honor her legacy but also reaffirm her status as a living legend shaping the future of music.
