Joe Bryant, Former NBA Player and Father of Kobe Bryant, Passes Away
Joe Bryant, a former NBA player and the father of the late Kobe Bryant, has passed away. He was 69 years old.
Bryant, also known as "Jellybean," had a nine-year NBA career, playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers, and Houston Rockets. After his playing days, he coached in various leagues, including the WNBA and overseas.
Joe Bryant is perhaps best known for being the father of Kobe Bryant, the legendary Los Angeles Lakers guard who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in 2020. The two shared a close bond, and Joe was often seen attending Kobe's games and supporting his son throughout his career.
The basketball community is mourning the loss of Joe Bryant, remembering him as a talented player, dedicated coach, and devoted father. His legacy lives on through his family, including his daughter Sharia and his grandchildren.
Details of his passing and funeral services have not been released.
