In a very recent turn of events, Musicians Kuami Eugene and Mr. Drew seem to be involved in a rift based on copyright issues. Following his exit from former label Highly Spiritual, Mr. Drew released his most recent hit single, Case featuring Mophty and has had the fans in a chokehold.
Kuami Eugene, who has also just returned from a hiatus following the loss of his father to promote his latest album LOVE AND CHAOS revealed in an interview that he wrote 80% of Mr. Drew's song.
According to him the collaboration was initiated through discussions between their respective management teams following which Mr Drew released the song without prior notice, prompting him to take action and insisting on receiving 50 percent of the song's royalties. His grievance, per his conversation with Adomfm Host Jerry Justoce stemmed from not receiving proper credits for his contribution to the song.
In the past, Kuami Eugene is known to have forgiven some artistes who purportedly are guilty of the same accusation being leveled against Mr. Drew but in this instance, he insists that he intends to make an example of Mr. Drew to ensure similar is not repeated in the future.

“His management has also denied knowing about it. If I had not expressed myself, he wouldn’t have said a word. Technically I own 50 per cent of that song and he ignored me. He is older than me but I am not little. Some people have done the same thing to me and I left it to God. Those people they are seniors in the game and I couldn’t argue with them. I am still young and can’t fight about anything but I think I need to set an example with Drew,” he said.
