Rap icon Lil Wayne has spoken out about being overlooked for the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, which will take place in his hometown of New Orleans. In a recent statement, the multi-platinum artiste expressed deep disappointment over the snub, revealing the emotional impact of not being selected to perform on one of the world's biggest stages.

"That hurt, it hurt a lot," Lil Wayne admitted. "I thought there was nothing better than that spot, on that stage, on that platform. It broke me, but I'm just trying to put myself back together."

Lil Wayne, who is considered one of the most influential rappers in the history of hip-hop, has strong ties to New Orleans, the city where he was born and raised. Fans and industry insiders alike had expected him to be a front-runner for the halftime show slot, given his deep roots in the community and his contributions to music.
