Grammy award winning producer an artiste, PJ Morton, who is also a member of popular American band Maroon5 arrived in Ghana on Thursday 19th of October ahead of his African Tour. He took the opportunity to visit the studios of 3music where he spoke to Lerny Lomotey and the culture squad on his life, career and reason behind his African Tour.
Speaking on the genesis of his career, he shared his experience working with legendary sing and songwriter India Arie who is known for her work on women empowerment societal beauty standards. Morton started playing the piano at a very early age and wrote music for a proper album by the age of fifteen identify his path at a very early age. He also cited working with music mogul Jermaine Dupri as his side producer for a while, following which he began his solo career and on to working the Maroon5 and back to his solo career.
Speaking on his African Tour, he revealed that new inspiration was mainly part of his motivation during which he would document his stay, doing shows, working on an album and basically getting in touch with his roots as an African American. He is set to perform at the Tree House as part of his visit to Ghana, sharing the stage with artistes like Baaba J and Ogranaya.
