Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Files $100 Million Defamation Lawsuit Against NBCUniversal Over Documentary
Diddy

Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has initiated a $100 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal, its streaming platform Peacock, and production company Ample Entertainment. The legal action centers on the documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, which aired in January 2025. Combs alleges that the film contains false and malicious claims, including accusations of serial murder, sexual assault of minors, and sex trafficking.

The lawsuit, filed in New York state court, asserts that the documentary portrays Combs as a “monster” with parallels to Jeffrey Epstein, despite lacking credible evidence to support such serious allegations. One particularly contentious point is the insinuation of Combs’ involvement in the 2018 death of his former partner, Kim Porter. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office had previously determined that Porter died of natural causes, specifically lobar pneumonia, with no evidence of foul play.

Combs’ legal team contends that NBCUniversal and its partners prioritized sensationalism over journalistic integrity, causing significant harm to his reputation and financial standing. They argue that the documentary’s release, amid ongoing legal challenges faced by Combs, undermines his right to a fair trial.

As of now, representatives for NBCUniversal, Peacock, and Ample Entertainment have not publicly responded to the lawsuit. Combs remains incarcerated, awaiting trial on separate federal charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
