Tragic news has rocked the South African music industry as reports of the death of rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known as AKA, have emerged. AKA, who was a prominent figure in the South African hip-hop scene, was reportedly shot and killed alongside his bodyguard in Durban.
According to the South African Police Service, the rapper and his bodyguard were walking towards their vehicle after leaving a restaurant when they were approached by two armed individuals who walked across the street towards them. The attackers shot both AKA and his bodyguard at close range before fleeing on foot. Both the rapper and his bodyguard were pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.
The motive behind the shooting is still unknown and the police have called on the public for any information that could assist in the investigation and apprehension of the suspects.
The music community and fans of AKA are in shock and mourning the loss of a talented artist who had a bright future ahead of him.
