Super Typhoon Yagi
Super Typhoon Yagi, Asia’s most powerful storm of the year, has wreaked havoc in northern Vietnam, leaving at least 59 people dead and over 20 others missing. The catastrophic storm unleashed massive landslides and flooding across the region, causing widespread destruction that has crippled infrastructure and disrupted daily life.

Millions of homes and businesses have been left without power, and telecommunications networks have been severely impacted, leaving many areas isolated. Key highways are submerged, bridges have been washed away, and thousands of trees have been uprooted, bringing industrial activity in major centers to a standstill.

Rescue operations are currently underway, but the scale of the devastation continues to hinder efforts. Authorities are racing against time to locate missing persons and provide aid to affected communities as Vietnam grapples with one of its worst natural disasters in recent years.

Officials have called for urgent international assistance and have warned of potential secondary disasters, such as additional landslides and flooding, as the region faces ongoing heavy rainfall. The government has mobilized military personnel and emergency services to assist in rescue and relief efforts, but the recovery process is expected to be long and challenging.
