Following the announcement of his and 21 Savage’s It’s All a Blur tour, which is set to hit 29 cities, Ticketmaster, an American ticket sales and distribution company was unveiled as the company handling ticketing for the event.
Tickets were made available to
fans on the 17th of March to which several fans complained about
high prices and coupled with claims of price-gauging which has led to a class-action
suit.
According to the suit, “Ticketmaster unilaterally decides which tickets it advertises and sells as Official Platinum based on a given event.” Additionally, “Most of the tickets advertised and sold as Official Platinum are neither premium tickets nor some of the best seats in the house but just regular tickets sold by Ticketmaster at artificially inflated premiums and in bad faith.
News outlet, The Toronto Star,
reported that ticket purchase by a man in Montreal totaled $789.54 each for
July 14 tour date while a second show added for the 15th of July with
the same available seats went for $350 less according to law firm LPC Avocat.
The Plaintiffs in the suit are
seeking the difference between the prices charged for Official Platinum tickets
and what their regular price ought to have been,” with additional damages of
$300 per customer.
