Wanderlust Ghana is embarking on an exciting 30,000-kilometer road adventure from Accra to Paris, Dubai, and Cape Town in South Africa. This three-month journey will cover 30 countries and is a follow-up to their previous road trip from Accra to London, which covered 10,000 kilometers. The participants were Richard Anim, Kwadwo Saka, Kwame Peprah, Kofi Peprah, Kwadwo Prakah-Asante, Franklin Peters and his son Quincy, Joseph, Cyprian Ed, Kwabena Ayirebi and his brother Kojo and the only female in the pack, Nana Afua Serwaa, also known as "Shecanic".
The team's journey will take them across diverse terrains, from the deserts of Mauritania to the skyscrapers of Dubai, and eventually down to the southern tip of Africa in Cape Town. Their route will include stops in countries such as Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Spain, France, Turkey, Kenya, and many more.
This epic expedition is not just about adventure but also about putting Ghana on the global map and showcasing its rich culture and beauty to the world. The CEO of Wanderlust Ghana, Kwabena Peprah, emphasized that the trip is about making Ghana a tourist destination for foreigners.
The Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism are collaborating with Wanderlust on this ambitious project. The team will be using five different Ghanaian registered vehicles, including a Mercedez Benz G-Wagon, two Toyota Landcruisers, Lexus RX 350, and a Ford F150 Raptor.
Each vehicle will use about 250 liters of fuel daily, covering an average distance of 800-900 kilometers. The journey will be a thrilling experience, with the team facing challenges such as car troubles, but they are embracing the challenge and reveling in the journey. In a speech, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Akwasi Agyeman, said the adventure will boost Ghana’s tourism.
“This adventure will give Ghana mileage in terms of tourism, considering the various media stops they would have at the destinations in other countries,” he said.
