Influence Media Partners purchased American rapper-singer-songwriter
Future's catalogue which spans 16years(2004-2020).
According to Hypebeast, despite the catalogue's
exact price not being disclosed,
a source close to the deal revealed
that the rapper was paid in the
"eight figures".
Future
released 612 singles across eight studio
albums over the above-stated period, in addition
to collaborations, a reissued longplay(LP),
mixtapes, and songs not listed on any
full-length project.
Future's
highest-charting solo single, Mask Off,
is included. As is
his GRAMMY Award-winning collaboration with
Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, and
James Blake on King's
Dead.
His catalogue
also includes Life Is Good, a
classic collaboration with Drake and Selfish,
a collaboration with Rihanna.
Speaking
about the reasoning behind selling his
catalogue he said, “I put everything into
my music, and I wanted to make
sure these were in good hands as
I thought about the next chapter of
these songs”
He continued by saying “I’m proud to partner up with Rene and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”

Influence Media’s Co-Managing
Partner, Lynn Hazan, shared that she
had worked with Future during her tenure
at Epic Records.
What does
it mean to sell your Catalogue?
The
ownership of an artiste's or songwriter's
composition(melody, lyrics, and beat) is
commonly referred to as "publishing"
or "catalogue"
When a
catalogue is sold, the songwriter typically
forfeits 100% of his or her copyright
interest — all income and rights in each song.
