Camidoh's latest 6-track EP, "A Lifetime Is Not Enough," is a testament to the artist's steady growth and well-thought-out journey.
Devoid of the typical Afrobeat tropes, the EP opens with the introspective "Free Me," in which Camidoh reflects on his journey and past and present struggles in pursuit of success. The Caribbean-inspired production encourages the listener to dance while still attentively listening to its message.
"Adoley" continues the seamless sequence, with guitar strings instantly creating an expectant mood. This track is a serenader, marked by sweet melodies, vibrant backing vocals, and beautiful composition, characteristic of Camidoh's style.
"Like You Mean It," featuring Cina Soul, is a standout track on the EP. The effervescent melody and compatible display of both artists make it clear that a collaborative project between the two is needed. Mido cedes room for Soul to set the tone of this song, with both artists delivering a surprisingly gratifying duet.
Tracklist for A Life Is Not Enough EP
"Ghetto Luv" is a groove-inducing track that reminds listeners of Gyedu-Blay Ambolley's "Simigwa" style. Camidoh performs a riff mid-song that bridges into the song's second part. The saxophone blends beautifully with the rest of the beat, making the fourth track on the EP a pleasant listen.
"All Yours" takes listeners back to Camidoh's "For My Lover" with its low-tempo, hanky-waving production. In this song, the artist seems to be reassuring a lover who seems uncertain about continuing the relationship. The soothing supporting vocals create a personal feel to the song as if Camidoh is communicating directly with a lover.
The EP ends on an exciting note with "Do Me," capturing the feeling of pleasure usually experienced from new and interesting attractions.
The compilation of "A Lifetime Is Not Enough" showcases Camidoh's prowess, solidifying his place in the industry and proving his musical and artistic power from our part of the world.
