In a highly anticipated courtroom drama, an Accra High Court is set to deliver its judgment today in the case involving ACP Benjamin Agordzo and eight others, who were accused of plotting a coup in 2021.

The charges stem from a 2019 police operation at the Citadel hospital, where ten individuals were apprehended, with allegations linking them to a plan aimed at destabilizing the country. ACP Agordzo, a high-ranking officer, and the other defendants were subsequently charged with conspiring to commit high treason.

The prosecution's case unfolded with the presentation of 13 witnesses, including members of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). Video evidence played a crucial role, revealing the alleged scheme to destabilize the nation, with claims of intentions to manufacture ammunition.

Despite the mounting evidence, each defendant vehemently asserted their innocence, putting forth individual defenses during the trial. However, an unfortunate twist occurred when Dr. Mac Palm, the owner of the hospital where the suspects were detained, had his testimony rejected due to his passing last year.
