British-Ghanaian artist GINIUS is making waves with her latest release, a two-track masterpiece titled Not My Concern and Different. This talented music producer and singer-songwriter is known for her unique sound, which she describes as the "afro blend," fusing Ghanaian Highlife with modern Afro pop, Contemporary R&B, South Africa's Amapiano, and more.
GINIUS, who has gained a loyal fan base, collaborated with music producer Insvne Auggie, known for his work with the Ghanaian collective 99 Phaces and longtime collaborator Freddie Gambini. Together, they've crafted an exceptional musical experience that explores themes of love and life.
The first track, Not My Concern, seamlessly blends Afro Pop and Amapiano influences. GINIUS's harmonious vocals take center stage, reminiscent of her early days in her church choir. The track's catchy chorus and playful melodies, driven by log drums, deliver a message of blessings and positivity.
On the other hand, Different showcases a sonic texture that's more familiar to GINIUS's fans. This Afro-fusion song features sexy and hypnotic chords, allowing her sultry vocals to shine. Her harmonization technique, reminiscent of '90s and early 2000s classics, draws the listener in, creating a mesmerizing experience.
Both tracks feature GINIUS's high and silky vocal textures, combined with Insvne Auggie's sensual grooves and menacing drums. With a runtime of just under 7 minutes, Not My Concern / Different takes listeners on a short yet captivating journey through a well-sequenced sensual soundscape.
GINIUS continues to impress with her ability to blend cultural roots with modern influences, solidifying her position as an artist to watch in the contemporary music scene.
