Burna Boy Loses Two Award Categories As Tems And Nomcebo Win Big
After
many attempts to add more Grammys to his award collection, Nigerian musician Burna
Boy has lost his two nominations at the just-ended 65th Grammys.
The
musician was unsuccessful in winning Best Global Song Performance for his song LAST LAST, as well as Best Global Album,
for LOVE, DAMINI. He was beaten out
by Nomcebo of South Africa for Best Global Song Performance and Masa Takumi of
Japan for Best Global Album.
Tems, a singer from Nigeria also received her very first Grammy award, making her the first Nigerian female artiste to win such an award. The Afrobeats singer picked the award for Best Melodic Rap Performance on Sunday night for her work on Future and Drake's hit song WAIT FOR U.
The
2023 Grammy Awards ceremony took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, U.S.A,
where Trevor Noah once again served as the show's host.
