In a surprise move, hip-hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs has publicly apologized and announced he sought help through therapy and rehab for his actions in the past. This comes after a video surfaced showing him physically assaulting his then girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016.
The surveillance footage, obtained by CNN, shows Diddy engaging in a violent altercation with Ventura. In response, Diddy took to Instagram to express remorse and accountability for his actions.
"I was messed up - I hit rock bottom - but I make no excuses," Diddy said. "My behavior on that video is inexcusable."
Diddy revealed that he has sought professional help, including therapy and rehab, to address his issues. He also expressed a commitment to personal growth and improvement.
"I had to ask God for his mercy and grace," he said. "I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to being a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."
The apology and announcement have sparked a mix of reactions, with some praising Diddy's willingness to confront his mistakes and others expressing skepticism about the sincerity of his apology.
Regardless, the development marks a rare instance of a high-profile figure taking public responsibility for their actions.
