Drake, an established figure in the music industry, has been impressing fans with his recent album releases, starting with Certified Lover Boy in 2021, followed by Honestly, Nevermind, and Her Loss in 2022. Despite his accomplished career, Drake continues to deliver hits and embarked on a successful tour, It's All a Blur, during the summer, performing alongside 21 Sav and working on his latest LP, For All The Dogs.
During his hometown shows in Toronto, Drake surprised the audience with special guests like Sexyy Red and Lil Baby. Thanks to 21 Sav obtaining a green card, he was able to join the tour's final night in the 6ix. J. Cole also made a memorable appearance, performing First Person Shooter with his friend. While some have debated who outshone whom on the track, both artists thoroughly enjoyed delivering their well-crafted verses.
The music community eagerly awaited the news of which of Drake's recent tracks would reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. As of Monday, October 16, it was officially announced that First Person Shooter had achieved the No. 1 spot. This accomplishment marks J. Cole's first-ever No. 1 song in his career.
Furthermore, it ties Drake with Michael Jackson for the most chart-topping tracks by a solo male artist. Both living and deceased artists have each accumulated 13 No. 1 hits. With Drake's recent hiatus announcement, there's speculation that he may surpass the King of Pop in this regard.
While tying Michael Jackson's Billboard record is undoubtedly an impressive achievement, the response to Drake's album, For All The Dogs, has not been universally positive. Specifically, the 36-year-old's use of Spanish vocals on Gently, featuring Bad Bunny, garnered mixed reviews, with at least one TikToker's mother expressing her displeasure with the song.
