EU-Ghana Collaboration Highlights Youth Empowerment and Partnership with Boxing Exhibition and Diplomatic Dialogue

The European Union (EU) delegation in Ghana has announced a series of events to underscore the significance of youth and skills development within the EU-Ghana partnership as part of the annual Europe Month celebrations in May 2024.

A key event during Europe Month will be a boxing exhibition titled Diplo-Rumble featuring EU Ambassador Irchad Razaaly and Ghanaian boxing legend Azumah Nelson on May 4 at Bukom Boxing Arena. This exhibition aims to showcase the boxing talent of young athletes in Bukom while emphasizing youth empowerment through sports.

On May 6, the EU and the Government of Ghana will convene their annual partnership dialogue chaired by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. This meeting will bring together EU Member States’ Ambassadors accredited to Ghana and representatives from various Ghanaian government institutions like the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to review progress on trade, security, and sustainable development, with the aim of strengthening Ghana-EU relations in the years ahead.

The annual Europe Day Reception, scheduled for May 9 at the EU Ambassador’s residence.
