Afro Nation will officially bring their lively celebration to the United States in less than three months. Back in January, the franchise unveiled the roster for their first Miami iteration, which would feature Burna Boy and Wizkid as headliners. Afro Nation Miami will take place on May 27-28 at LoanDepot Park. Fortunately for Afrobeats fans, the already impressive lineup has just gotten even better.
Afro Nation announced on March 9, 2023 that Nigerian sensation Fireboy DML, Jamaican Dancehall icon Mavado and Panamanian vocalist Sech have been added to the lineup. The festival has also added DBN Gogo and Kelvin Momo to its special Piano People stage, which focuses on the South African amapiano genre. Many more fascinating acts, like rising favourites Rema and Asake, Dancehall icon Beenie Man, CKay, BNXN, Black Sherif, French rapper Franglish and more have already been announced in the lineup.
Major League DJZ and Uncle Waffles will also perform on the aforementioned Piano People stage. The trailblazing festival capped off a busy 2022 with Afro Nation Portugal, its North American debut in Puerto Rico and, most recently, Afro Nation Ghana in December, their first event in Ghana since 2019.
Back in August of 2022, Fireboy DML launched his Playboy album, a 14-track body of work that featured Rema, Ed Sheeran, Euro, Asake, Shenseea and Chris Brown. The album went on to debut at the top of Billboard's Heatseeker Albums list.
