Ghanaian music collective FREE THE YOUTH recently appeared on the Culture Daily’s UNPACKIN segment with Lerny Lomotey, where they delved into their collaborative project with Kwesi Arthur titled WHO DAT BOY and the philosophy behind their movement.
During the interview, the group discussed their music collaboration with Kwesi Arthur, shedding light on the creative process and the inspiration behind their joint project. The audio for WHO DAT BOY was released on 19th April and the video accompanying it was also released on the 14th of May. They also spoke about their movement's core values, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and community building.
The group's representatives Kweku Maposh - Head of Operations and Logistics, Joey lit - Head of Design and Artistic Director, Kellykurlz - Head of Production and Creative Director explained the rationale behind their origin, which is to create an open community for the youth, mainly creatives and highlighting the need for a platform that empowers young creatives and challenges the status quo. They also shared their vision for the future of Ghanaian music and their role in shaping the industry's next generation.
