A poignant funeral service unfolded at the Adjiriganor Astro Turf in Accra, bidding a final goodbye to the late Raphael Dwamena, a former Black Stars striker who tragically passed away in Albania. On Friday, February 16, 2024, a gathering of mourners, including family, friends, and well-wishers, came together to pay their respects and commemorate Dwamena's life.
Leading the solemn ceremony was Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association, who headed a delegation featuring General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo and Executive Council Member Eugene Nobel. The emotional farewell also witnessed the presence of former Black Stars players such as Augustine Arhinful, Sulley Muntari, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Ibrahim Tanko, Kwadwo Asamoah, and Isaac Vorsah.
Raphael Dwamena, who made his debut for the Black Stars on June 11, 2017, against Ethiopia, leaves behind a cherished legacy that touched the hearts of many. The football community and fans alike gathered to celebrate the life of a player whose impact extended far beyond the pitch.
