Ghana Meteorological Agency Issues Warning of Dangerous Sea State
Dangerous Sea State

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued a warning of a dangerous sea state expected along the coast of Ghana on Tuesday, May 21, and Wednesday, May 22. According to the agency, wave heights are expected to rise above the normal threshold, reaching 2.2-2.6 meters on Tuesday and persisting at 2.0-2.7 meters on Wednesday. Strong currents are also expected to accompany this condition.

The agency warns that this dangerous sea state poses a significant threat to life and property, particularly for small coastal vessels, swimmers, and surfers. Coastal flooding and erosion are also possible in low-lying areas.

Mariners and the public are advised to exercise extreme caution and monitor updates from the Ghana Meteorological Agency to stay informed. Small craft should seek safe harbor until the dangerous sea state subsides.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency urges everyone to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period.
