David Akologo, originally from Ghana, has been tapped to join the Bolivia national team for their upcoming friendly matches scheduled for March. The 27-year-old goalkeeper, who has been residing in Bolivia since 2020, first caught the attention of the Bolivian Football Federation in August 2023. His eligibility for naturalization aligns with Bolivia's nationality law criteria, having established continuous residency in the country for over three years.
Despite his roots in Ghana, Akologo has carved out a significant presence in Bolivian football circles, particularly with his stellar performances for Club Deportivo Aurora. His journey in the sport includes representing the Ghana U20 team earlier in his career, a testament to his talent on the international stage.
With previous stints at Cochabamba FC and CD Enrique Happ, Akologo's prowess as a goalkeeper has now earned him a coveted spot in the Bolivia national team squad. His inclusion underscores the diverse talent pool contributing to Bolivia's football landscape.
