The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has reiterated the police service's steadfast commitment to maintaining the current state of peace in the nation. He stressed that police officers are prepared to make sacrifices to ensure peaceful presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7. Speaking at the inauguration of a new modular brick police station in Kwahu Asakraka, Eastern Region, Dr. Dampare emphasized this dedication.
"We, the police service, will continue to risk our lives to safeguard the peace of our beloved country, Ghana," stated the IGP.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who also serves as the chairman of the police council, commended the implementation of modern modular police stations, underscoring the government's commitment to improving infrastructure and personnel to bolster peace and security nationwide. Chief Nana Somuah Mireku Nyampong III of Kwahu Asakraka expressed support for the establishment of the police station, foreseeing enhanced security and community safety as a result.
