Kanye West Makes Name Change to Ye Official

The artiste formerly known as Kanye West has made a bold move, legally changing his name to simply YE, as confirmed by a Los Angeles judge. This change sees him bidding farewell to his middle and last names, Kanye Omari West.

Ye has expressed a strong desire for everyone, including online platforms and streaming services, to recognize and refer to him solely as YE, as conveyed through a statement from his chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos.

This decision isn't new. Back in 2018, Ye took to Twitter to announce his intention to go by YE, stating, "I am the being formerly known as Kanye West. I am Ye."

Explaining the rationale behind the name change in a radio interview, Ye shared, "I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you. So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us." He delved into the symbolism, suggesting that the shift from KANYE to YE represents both the positive and negative aspects of human nature.

Notably, YE also served as the title of an album he released in the same year, adding another layer of significance to his new moniker.
