Renowned tailor Martin Greenfield, celebrated for dressing US presidents and surviving the Holocaust, passed away at the age of 95, as confirmed by his sons Jay, Tod, and David Greenfield.

Having founded Martin Greenfield Clothiers in Brooklyn in 1977 after three decades in a clothing factory, his legacy spans generations.

Arriving in the US in 1947, he adopted the name Martin Greenfield, signaling his embrace of American identity. Climbing from a floor boy to a production manager, he later purchased the factory, launching his own venture.

Greenfield's bespoke suits graced luminaries like Frank Sinatra, Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, and LeBron James. Additionally, he dressed six US Presidents, including Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. However, his most iconic creations adorned President Obama, earning admiration for his sharp style.

Beyond his sartorial influence, Greenfield's resilience shone through his survival of the Holocaust, becoming a beacon of hope and strength.

Even in retirement, his sons Jay and Tod continue his legacy, maintaining the family business in Brooklyn, where garments are still meticulously crafted by hand.

Martin Greenfield's passing marks the end of an extraordinary era in American fashion. His timeless designs and enduring impact on countless lives attest to his status as a master tailor, survivor, and style icon whose legacy will endure for generations to come.
