The final weekend of the month of October was culminated by a number of events which had the city flooded with people and activities from end-to-end. One of such events is the Obroni Wawu Festival, the one event that owned the month of October in its effort to highlight the relevance and role of thrift culture on popular culture and lifestyle in Ghana. The Rawlings Park served as the hub for all things ranging from clothing and accessories to talent if you are likely to opt for alternative choices and fashion sense.

This year's event is themed the The Adeɛyie Resurrection and was focused on doing better and celebrating the role of Kantamanto as globally recognized leader and hub for the reuse, repair, upcycling and remanufacturing of thrift clothes. Several vendors showed up to participate in the celebrations, mounting stands with a wide variety of clothes and accessories which appeal to a wide audience to foster patronage amongst others.

Several known fashion icons and celebrities were also there in attendance to show their support for the event and also to make purchases of their own having already identified with the thrift community in Ghana. Popular designer for and stylist for Television Show host, Nana Ama McBRown, Neal Davis was present as well as musician and activist Sister Derby who were both seen fraternizing with the community of thrift vendors and attendees.

The was a sideshow with endless display of talent and a runway show which saw several designs and fits modeled for the audience hosted by 3Music Tv's Lerny Lomotey. The event was a successful one which saw several people in attendance, high patronage and a potential to become an even bigger annual event.
