Abra Cadabra released the MIXED EMOTIONS EP two years ago today, an unexpected four-piece body of work that unveiled a new, more melodic side to the North London rapper. Now, Abra returns with its sequel, but this time he's achieved a better blend of rough and silky smooth.
The release of lead single FOR YOU, a lyrical pledge of affection fueled by a sturdy Afroswing bounce from producer M1OnTheBeat, signaled the start of MIXED EMOTIONS II. The song came with a video directed by Biggz, which showed Abra and his other half in a sumptuous, palatial estate, as well as some crisp all-white trackies.
Abra has reined in at least part of the melody for the rest of the EP, tempering it with his trademark, diesel-throated rapping and some massive, powerful 808s.
The other three tracks are produced by Chalabanta, BenzMuzik, Legacy, Rvei, and Juggy Beatz. Unlike Part I, there are no guest appearances but rather pure Abra Cadabra magic from start to finish.
