Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema has set a new benchmark for African music on the global stage, becoming the first African artist to surpass 3 billion streams on YouTube Music with an album. The milestone was reached with his chart-topping project Rave & Roses (Ultra), a groundbreaking body of work that has helped redefine the reach and power of Afrobeats.

Initially released in March 2022, the album was expanded in April 2023 with the Ultra edition, which included additional tracks that gave the project fresh momentum. Central to its global success is the smash hit CALM DOWN featuring Selena Gomez, which topped charts worldwide and became one of the most-streamed Afrobeats songs of all time.

The album also features fan favorites like SOUNGASM, CHARM and HOLIDAY showcasing Rema’s versatility, lyrical style, and genre-blending sound that resonates across borders.

This historic achievement not only underscores Rema’s meteoric rise but also highlights the growing global appetite for African music. With this milestone, Rema continues to fly the flag for Afrobeats, inspiring a new generation of African artists breaking into international markets.
