Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, has announced a new partnership with the Student Loan Trust Fund as part of activities marking the institution’s 20th anniversary. The artiste made the disclosure following a courtesy call with the Fund’s Board and Management, led by the Minister for Education.
The engagement highlighted two decades of the Fund’s support for tertiary students across Ghana, while also exploring new strategies to expand its reach and impact.
Established to provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education, the Student Loan Trust Fund has played a key role in improving access to tertiary education. Over the years, it has supported thousands of students, helping to bridge financial gaps and create opportunities for academic advancement.
As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, the Fund is expected to spotlight its achievements and introduce new initiatives to strengthen student support systems.
Shatta Wale’s involvement signals a strategic effort to engage young people through music and cultural influence. While full details of the partnership are yet to be outlined, it is expected to include awareness campaigns, student engagement activities and advocacy around financial literacy and access to education.
The collaboration brings a strong cultural voice to the Fund’s mission, leveraging Shatta Wale’s wide reach to connect with the youth. It also positions both the artiste and the institution at the forefront of a renewed push to empower Ghanaian students and promote education as a driver of national development.
