Singer Sean Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was arrested on Thursday in California on multiple fraud and theft charges.
The arrest came hours after a SWAT team raided his rented mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida, where his mother, Janice Turner, 61, was taken into custody. The raid was executed in connection with a lawsuit filed by Ver Ver Entertainment, which alleges that Kingston failed to pay for a 232-inch television installed at his home.
According to authorities, Kingston was taken into custody "without incident" in Fort Irwin, California, and was booked into a San Bernardino jail. He will be held in California pending extradition to Florida, where he will face charges related to fraud and theft.
Kingston's attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, has acknowledged the allegations and expressed confidence in a successful resolution for both Kingston and his mother.
This is not the first legal issue for the 33-year-old singer, who rose to fame in the late 2000s with hits like BEAUTIFUL GIRLS and FIRE BURNING. He has faced previous lawsuits and financial issues, including a 2018 bankruptcy filing.
The case is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
