Back then, Arsenal were desperate to fill the gap left by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Vlahovic seemed like the perfect fit, but he decided to join the Italian giants instead. Maybe the weather in Turin was nicer?
Fast forward to today, and things aren't exactly rosy for Juventus. They've been struggling this season, and Arsenal see their chance to pounce! Vlahovic, on the other hand, has been on fire, banging in goals left and right. No wonder Arsenal are chomping at the bit to bring him on board.
The Gunners are looking for a striker who can not only score a bunch of goals, but also bring something new to their attack. Vlahovic, at the young age of 24, seems to tick all the boxes.
Now, he won't come cheap. Arsenal are reportedly willing to splash out €65 million to bring him to the Emirates. That's a lot of dough, but if he can help them challenge the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, it might just be worth it.
Manager Mikel Arteta is also looking to lighten the load on his star attackers, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka. These guys have been playing non-stop, and it's starting to show. Vlahovic's arrival would give them some much-needed breathing room.
But here's the thing: Arsenal already have some quality strikers in Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. So, if they sign Vlahovic, Arteta will have his work cut out for him, keeping everyone happy and giving them enough playing time.
One thing's for sure, though: signing Vlahovic would be a HUGE win for Arsenal. It could be the missing piece they need to finally compete for trophies again. Get ready, Arsenal fans, this transfer saga is about to get interesting!
