Breaking free from the chatter surrounding the next James Bond, the influential British grime music icon, Skepta, also known as Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr, is set to make his mark in the film industry with his debut project, TRIBAL MARK. Diverging from the conventional narrative, this film introduces an anti-hero character, a black undercover secret service agent, challenging established norms.

Expressing his weariness with the repetitive debates on the casting of the next black James Bond, Skepta has chosen an innovative path. TRIBAL MARK not only serves as a platform for black actors but also disrupts stereotypes entrenched in spy and secret agent genres.

The storyline of TRIBAL MARK unfolds the captivating life journey of Mark, a Nigerian immigrant adapting to life in London from a young age. Navigating challenges in his teenage years, Mark finds himself incarcerated for firearm possession. In the present day, the character Mark, portrayed by Skepta, emerges as a sharply dressed undercover secret service agent, relishing Nigerian dinner staples like pounded yam and Egusi soup.

This project marks Skepta's debut in film directing, producing, and acting, showcasing his versatility beyond the realms of the music industry. By crafting an original narrative with a black anti-hero, Skepta not only contributes to the diversification of cinematic stories but also offers a fresh perspective on representation within the film industry.

TRIBAL MARK promises to be a groundbreaking short film challenging stereotypes, celebrating cultural diversity, and ushering in a new era of storytelling. Skepta's venture into cinema adds an exhilarating dimension to his already illustrious career, cementing his position as a trailblazer in the entertainment industry.
