From sleeping in her car to earning her doctorate, Diamond White has lived a life that reads like a movie script, only she’s using music to write her own ending.
In an intimate conversation on the Big Convo, the Houston-raised rapper and psychologist opened up about her early beginnings, her faith and her mission to redefine womanhood in entertainment.
“I started rapping when I was ten,” she recalled. “Back then, it was just an outlet, something pure. Now, I’m using my platform to show women you can chase your dreams without compromising your values.”
Diamond revealed that her dual path in music and psychology wasn’t planned. After a teacher once told her that becoming a rapper wasn’t a “real career,” she decided to do both.
“She said I needed to pick a realistic career, like a doctor or a teacher. So I said, Fine, I’ll be both a doctor and a rapper,” she said with a laugh.
Years later, that combination birthed Dr. Diamond White, a brand built on faith, empowerment and authenticity. Her movement, “I Hustle With My Legs Closed,” stands as a bold rejection of the notion that women must trade dignity for success.
“I’ve turned down million-dollar deals because I refuse to compromise,” she said. “If the offer doesn’t align with God’s plan, it’s not for me.”
As an independent artiste, Diamond is carving her own path in an industry she believes has lost its moral compass. But her goal isn’t just to make music, it’s to create a movement.
“I want women to go into entertainment with integrity,” she explained. “When you hold on to your values, it might take longer, but your impact will last.”
Beyond her music, Diamond uses her psychology background to mentor young women struggling with self-worth and purpose. Her artistry, faith and intellect combine to form a brand that is equal parts fearless and feminine.
