In a recent interview, Usher peeled back the layers of his past heartbreak, delving into his relationship with Chilli Thomas from TLC. The 45-year-old, who just tied the knot with Jennifer Goicoechea in Las Vegas, spilled the details during a Super Bowl Halftime Show chat with People Magazine.

Opening up, Usher spoke fondly of Chilli, revealing that he had popped the question to her, only to face rejection. The singer, who has been a devoted fan of Chilli since the tender age of eight, shared his sentiments about their relationship, which came to an end in late 2004 due to differences in their outlooks. Usher explained, "I was a young man, and she had very specific rules that didn't work for me. We were missing each other."

Chilli, now 53 and seven years senior to Usher, had previously shared the challenges of moving on from their relationship in an interview with People Magazine. Despite the heartbreak, both parties have moved on amicably. Chilli, in a recent update, expressed her aspirations to marry her current beau, actor Matthew Lawrence.
