Black Sherif

Ghanaian music star Black Sherif is set to return with a new body of work titled Sun Sherif Vol. 1, scheduled for release on Friday, September 4, 2026.

The artiste confirmed the release date and title through his social media platforms, thanking fans for their patience and support as he prepares to open another chapter in his musical journey.

The announcement has generated significant anticipation, particularly following the intimate London listening session where Black Sherif gave selected fans an early taste of some of the unreleased material.

The project arrives after a major period in Black Sherif’s career. His previous album, Iron Boy, earned major recognition at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, including Album of the Year and Artiste of the Year, while his international touring schedule has continued to expand his reach.

Earlier this month, he delivered a sold-out headline performance at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, where he performed some of his biggest records and previewed three unreleased songs.

Reports from his London listening session also identified Expresso among the unreleased material presented to attendees, although this has not been officially confirmed as part of the final tracklist.

Black Sherif’s latest announcement has deliberately kept much of Sun Sherif Vol. 1 under wraps. As of the latest confirmed reports, the official tracklist, number of songs and featured artistes have not been announced, meaning speculation around possible collaborations remains unconfirmed.

The project will nevertheless mark Black Sherif’s latest major musical statement following the Iron Boy era, with fans now counting down to September 4 to discover the sound, stories and direction behind Sun Sherif Vol. 1.
