The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Dallas, Texas, USA, on September 13, 2026.

Shatta Wale was nominated in the Best Reggae/Dancehall Act category, where he will compete against some of the genre’s biggest names, including Jamaica’s Popcaan, Vybz Kartel, Skillibeng and Kranium, as well as Nigeria’s Patoranking.
The nomination comes weeks after the Ghanaian dancehall star was named Best African Dancehall Entertainer at the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
DopeNation earned a nomination for Best African Group, while rapper Sarkodie received a nod for the Timeless Impact Award, recognising his long-standing contribution to African music.
This year’s AFRIMMA nominations also feature continental stars including Burna Boy, Davido, Rema, Tems, Tyla and Diamond Platnumz, reflecting the growing global reach of African music while keeping Ghana strongly represented through its leading artistes.
Organised by the African Muzik Magazine Awards and Music Festival, AFRIMMA celebrates outstanding achievements by African artists, producers, DJs and other entertainment industry professionals from across the continent and the diaspora.
Since its launch in 2014, the awards have become one of the major platforms recognising African music on the global stage.
