Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are no longer legally bound by a custody agreement since their youngest twin children, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, became legal adults on July 12.

The twins were the only thing holding the former couple together after their split in 2016.

Brad and Angelina have six children together: Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne, and this development is the latest after years of custody talks.

Pitt and Jolie divorced in 2016 after more than ten years together and two years of marriage.

Before their divorce was formalized in 2024, their split resulted in an eight-year legal battle over custody.

Pitt has refuted Jolie's legal team's earlier allegations that their marriage ended because of an incident on a private plane that year.

Reflecting on the incidents that led to the separation, Jolie confessed that it was emotionally challenging for her and the children.

“The events leading to my need to separate from my ex-husband were emotionally difficult for me and our children,” she wrote in court documents.

Despite receiving joint custody in 2021, rumours indicate that Pitt's relationship with some of his children has deteriorated.

Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne are among the children who have reportedly decided not to use Pitt's last name, and there have been reports that the actor has not spent much time with them lately.
