The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is expected in Parliament on Thursday, July 23, 2026, to present the Mid-Year Budget Review.

This announcement was made during the Tuesday, July 14, proceedings by the Deputy Majority Leader, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, while the presentation of the Business Statement for the coming parliamentary week was being made.

The Mid-Year Budget Review is expected to give an update on how the 2026 Budget is being implemented, evaluate the nation's economic performance during the first half of the year, and describe any suggested changes to fiscal policy.

“On the issue of the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, the date is Thursday, July 23; that is when the Finance Minister will come here to present the Mid-Year Review, as to whether a statement or what have you, that is in the hands of the Finance Minister and I cannot pre-empt that,” the deputy majority leader said.

The presentation is expected after the Finance Minister has finished consultations with Cabinet and briefed President John Dramani Mahama on the policy recommendations contained in the review and subject to the sitting of Parliament.

The mid-year statement is broadly anticipated to be more than just a review of budget implementation and outline the government’s strategy to maintain economic recovery, bolster public finances and boost private sector-led growth in the second half of the year.
