GES Releases Funds To SHSs For Perishable Food Items
Ghana Education Service

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released funds to Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country, to facilitate the provision of perishable food products for second- and third-year students,

The funds have already been transferred to the accounts of the corresponding schools and cover the period from March 1 to September 4, 2026, in order to enable the timely delivery of food products, according to the Service.

To ensure seamless implementation, the GES instructed all Regional Directors of Education to inform the heads of SHSs and SHTSs of the disbursement of money in a statement dated July 15, 2026.

The Service further directed school administrators to account for the cash by providing the Director-General with certified receipts confirming payment via their individual Regional Accountants.

The Director-General of the GES, Munawaru Issahaque, has signed the directive through the Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality Assurance and Improvement, asking the regional directors and the school administrators to collaborate to ensure the successful execution of the exercise.
