Nigeria’s Tems Makes History After Scoring Oscar Award Nomination
Tems a Nigerian songwriter and artist have been
nominated for the 95th Oscars which will be held on Sunday, March 12,
2023. In the nominees list published on the website of the Oscars, Tems was
nominated in the Music Original Song category for the song 'LIFT ME UP' where she
was the songwriter together with Ryan Coogler.
Rihanna made her return to music after a long break with
Black Panther-Wakanda Forever’s LIFT ME UP in 2022. The song which was released
on October 28, 2022 has 74 million views on YouTube within two months and has
also been shortlisted for Golden Globe and Grammy.
The 2023 Grammy’s will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, an American
Comedian, writer and producer. The ceremony will be televised from the Dolby Theater
at Ovation Hollywood and aired live on ABC and in more than 200 territories
worldwide.
