US Embassy To Suspend Most Consular Services For Maintenance From July 20 To 31
US Embassy, Accra

The U.S. Embassy in Accra will temporarily suspend most routine consular services from July 20 to July 31, 2026 to conduct scheduled facilities renovation.


The note from the Embassy says services are expected to resume on August 3, 2026.


Please be advised that walk-in notarial services and Consular Reports of Death Abroad (CRODA) will not be available during the maintenance window.


The Embassy said those who have previously received email notices that their pending passports or Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) paperwork are ready for pickup can still come to the Embassy from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays.


It further stated that during this time, adult passport renewals filed via the Embassy's drop box will still be processed.


Applicants seeking passport renewal services were instructed by the Embassy to adhere to the guidelines on its official website.
