Ejisu came alive over the weekend as award-winning Ghanaian rapper Amerado successfully staged the third edition of his annual flagship event, the My Motherland Concert, at the iconic Okese Park, drawing an estimated crowd of 15,000 to 20,000 patrons.
The much-anticipated homecoming concert once again underscored Amerado’s deep connection to his roots while celebrating Ghanaian music, culture and community. Over the years, the event has grown steadily into one of the most talked-about artiste-led concerts in the Ashanti Region.
Taking centre stage as headliner, Amerado delivered a riveting performance packed with his biggest hits and signature lyrical showcases. His commanding stage presence and engaging interaction with fans transformed Okese Park into a wave of chants, sing-alongs and nonstop excitement that carried on through the night.
The concert was bolstered by a stellar lineup of top-tier acts, including music legend Okyeame Kwame, King Paluta, Sista Afia, Strongman, Akwaboah, Oseikrom Sikanii and Fancy Gadam, whose energetic sets kept the massive crowd on its feet.
Surprise appearances from King Paluta and actor-turned-musician Lil Win further heightened the night. Making history for the concert, the third edition also welcomed its first international act, with Liberian music star JZyNo delivering a thrilling performance that added a cross-border flair to the celebration.
Beyond music, patrons were treated to comedy performances from Asafo Powers and 24Gh, who brought laughter and variety to the all-night event.
A standout moment of the evening was a special tribute honouring Okyeame Kwame for his immense contribution to Ghanaian music and culture, an emotional segment warmly received by fans and industry stakeholders alike.
The presence of the Ejisuhemaa also graced the concert, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, whose inspiring address added cultural depth and traditional significance to the occasion.
Running through the night and officially closing at 6:00a.m. on Monday, the third edition of My Motherland Concert stands as one of the longest and most memorable live music events ever staged in Ejisu.
With its massive turnout, rich and diverse lineup, and seamless fusion of music, comedy, culture and community, My Motherland Concert continues to cement its place as a flagship event on Ghana’s live music calendar, further solidifying Amerado’s reputation as a hometown hero deeply committed to giving back to his people.
